Bountiful police plan sobriety checkpoint

BOUNTIFUL -- The Bountiful police will conduct a roadside safety and sobriety checkpoint this Saturday.

The checkpoint will be at the intersection of 500 West and 500 South from Saturday evening to early Sunday morning.

The checkpoint is part of an ongoing initiative by Bountiful police to remove impaired drivers from the road.

Driving under the influence is a class B misdemeanor, punishable by up to a six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
