Redistricting forum planned for Salt Lake library

SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah lawmakers and political activists will discuss the state's redistricting process during a forum at the Salt Lake City Library.

University of Utah political science associate professor Tim Chambless will moderate the Tuesday evening discussion.

Speakers will include Republican Rep. Ken Sumsion (SUM'-shin) of American Fork and Democratic Sen. Ben McAdams of Salt Lake City. Both lawmakers sit on the legislative redistricting committee.

Kelli Lundgren of Represent Me Utah, who has been involved with the redistricting process since it began six months ago, will also speak.

Utah lawmakers are returning Oct. 17 to attempt to finalize the election boundaries for the state's four congressional districts after they failed to approve it last week.
