Gov. Herbert talking jobs during rural tour

SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Gary Herbert will encourage elementary school students to pursue higher education during a stop on a four-day state tour aimed at job creation.

Herbert will speak to the students Tuesday at Grouse Creek Elementary in the northwestern corner of the state.

Herbert will meet with area ranchers before the elementary school visit as part of his tour of rural Utah.

Later Tuesday, Herbert plans a tour of a cereal factory in Tremonton and will attend a dinner at the Utah State University branch campus in Brigham City.

Herbert is planning to be in the southwestern corner of the state Wednesday, central Utah on Thursday and southern Utah Friday.
