Fundraiser Saturday for girl in coma

SYRACUSE -- Gracie Hinds, a fourth-grader at Syracuse Arts Academy, was admitted to Primary Children's Medical Center in August for sudden seizures.

To get the seizures under control, doctors placed Gracie in a drug-induced coma.

The doctors have yet to diagnose what is causing these seizures, and as a result, Gracie continues to be in a coma.

Friends and family of Ryan and Mindy Hinds, Gracie's parents, have planned an event called "Race for Grace."

A 5K, a family 1K and a carnival are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Jensen Nature Park.

For more information, call event organizer Amy Miller at 801-920-7299.
