FARMINGTON -- An 81-year-old Syracuse man pleaded not guilty to multiple charges relating to sexually molesting children.

Lionel Milo Nance, who is being held in Davis County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail, appeared in 2nd District Court on Thursday.

He entered the not guilty pleas to five first-degree felonies -- three counts of rape of a child, one count of sodomy on a child and one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, as well as two second-degree felony counts of sex abuse of a child.

Another court hearing is set for Nov. 3

The first-degree felonies carry mandatory prison sentences following a conviction. The second-degree felonies were filed by the Davis County Attorney's Office in July after an investigation by Syracuse police. According to court documents, the charges of sex abuse of a child stem from incidents that occurred from 2007 to 2010.

Nance was arrested and booked in Davis County Jail on the first-degree felonies in August. Those offenses occurred from March 26, 1995, to May 27, 2001.
