Family hospitalized after I-15 accident

MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — A California family of three was transported to Ogden Regional Medical Center just after 5 p.m. Saturday after they crashed their vehicle head-on into a cement barrier.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Shane Keisel said the accident occurred southbound on Interstate 15 near Mile Marker 349.

He said the father, who is 85, drifted his white Lexis SUV off the road to the right and then overcorrected, sending the vehicle into the barrier.

The mother, 80, and daughter, 45, also were injured. None of the injuries were life-threatening, Keisel said.

He believes a heart condition suffered by the father may have contributed to the crash.
