(UNEDITED)While out for a drive to see the fall foliage the other day, my husband and I drove through the community of Deweyville Town - not city, but town- which is north of Brigham City and Honeyville, in Box Elder County. We learned some fascinating history about Deweyville Town. Where else can you buy twelve acres of property for $100 and with determination and community spirit build city offices, install two baseball fields and several horse shoe pits and a half-mile walking trail with beautiful trees and grass? In 1969 that is exactly what the less than 300 citizens of Deweyville Town did. There is a marker posted telling the story of how this all came about. Now is a great time to take this short drive.
