Brigham City has joined with over 200 other cities across the nation and Utah in declaring Nov. 1 as “Extra Mile Day” to celebrate individuals and organizations that go the extra mile to lift up others in the community.
It is a day to renew our commitment to going the extra mile in personal effort, volunteerism, and service, said Mayor Dennis Fife in a news release. It is a day to acknowledge and thank those around us who go the extra mile for us in our everyday lives.
Brigham City is asking civic groups, church organizations, businesses, non profit organizations and individuals to look for a special project to do during this month to give service to others or the community. Of course, by giving service to others you give service to the community. For individuals it can be as simple as cleaning up or improving your own yard. You can get your entire block involved. If you need approval or special help from Brigham City, please ask and we will do what we can with the resources available. We already have many that go the extra mile in our community and we thank them.
Please let us know what you plan or have accomplished, no matter how simple, so that we can recognize all of the efforts. Call Brigham City at (435) 734-6612 to ask for help or report your efforts.
