Trial set for brother accused in robbery

FARMINGTON -- A three-day jury trial has been set for one of three brothers charged in a robbery that happened more than two years ago.

Michael Rivera, 30, charged with first-degree felony aggravated robbery and second-degree felony aggravated assault, appeared Monday in 2nd District Court before Judge John R. Morris. The trial is set for April 4-6, 2012.

Rivera, who is being held in Davis County Jail in lieu of $100,00 bail since his arrest Dec. 17, 2009, is the last of the three brothers to have his case resolved in the botched robbery and shooting of Anmol Ratton in his driveway in Clearfield on Aug. 29, 2009.

Two of Rivera's brothers pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the case and have been sentenced.
