SALT LAKE CITY -- A mother says police aren't doing enough to find who struck her 22-year-old son in a fatal hit-and-run crash in West Wendover while authorities say they're reevaluating the case for new leads.
Shasta Hooper tells KSL-TV (http://bit.ly/sVwgI0 ) she and other family members are seeking answers in the case. They are planning a car wash to raise $1,000 for his cremation.
Police say a cab driver found the body of West Valley City resident Terron "Demi" Hooper on Sept. 4.
Family members say Hooper was celebrating his birthday in the northeastern Nevada border town. He left his friends at a bar and was walking to a casino before his death.
A West Wendover police sergeant says the case is difficult and authorities need the public's help.
