BOUNTIFUL -- The city council has awarded a bid to build an addition onto one of the city's wells to house new controls for fluoride and chlorine gas in the same room.
In action taken recently, the council voted unanimously to accept the bid of Hansen Homes to complete the addition of a new addition to the well house at the city's Calder Wells for $19,600.
Originally, city officials had hoped to complete the project by the summer of this year. However, final approval from the state's Division of Drinking Water was delayed, according to Mark Slagowski, director of the city's water department.
Funding the project will come from adjusting priorities for other water projects, Slagowski said.
