SALT LAKE CITY -- The mayors of Salt Lake City and Provo will ride bicycles together for 60 miles to settle a wager on the University of Utah and BYU football game.
The mayors will begin their four-hour ride Friday morning in Provo.
The wager between Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker and Provo Mayor John Curtis began in 2008. At the time, they agreed the mayor from the home city of the losing team would bicycle to the other city.
Now, the mayors ride together but start in the loser's city. They also use the event to collect food donations for the Utah Food Bank.
The University of Utah defeated Provo-based BYU 54-10 on Sept. 17.
