Farmington city, CenterCal share project

FARMINGTON -- The $250 million Station Park project will include at least one unexpected amenity -- a nice border behind stores on the project's east side and the city's public works building.

City officials recently approached CenterCal, the developer of the project, about a potential eyesore behind Harmons and stores on the east side of the development. The city's public works building and a trail are in the area.

CenterCal donated approximately $10,000 in trees and shrubs, and city crews will donate the labor to create a natural barrier.

"We don't want people staring at the back of the public works building," said City Manager Dave Millheim. "We're grateful they (CenterCal) were supportive."

Craig Trottier, vice president of development for CenterCal, said they felt the donation and buffer was good for both parties.
