ST GEORGE -- A federal judge is deciding whether two Utah men accused of stealing a half-dozen guns from the Blanding Police Department will remain in jail.
Federal prosecutors say 22-year-old Thomas Richard Dale Goatz and 21-year-old Matthew Ryan Dudley stole six handguns from police in August.
The two men face multiple federal charges tied to the theft and sale of guns in southern Utah throughout August.
They were set to appear Monday before a judge in St. George. Goatz's attorney declined to comment on the case, and Dudley's attorney had not returned a request for comment by Monday afternoon.
An arraignment is also scheduled Tuesday for Timothy Drew Goatz and 34-year-old Carmen R. Doan, who each face 22 felony charges in state court tied to the thefts.
