TREMONTON -- The light from the setting sun is being blamed for an auto-pedestrian accident here that left a woman in critical condition.
Tremonton Officer Jeremy Rose said a 44-year-old man was cited for failure to yield in the 4:50 p.m. Monday accident.
Injured was a 58-year-old woman who was crossing to the east on 100 West near Main Street with her 16-year-old son. The driver was turning from westbound travel onto 100 West from Main Street.
Rose said the woman was taken by ambulance to Bear River Valley Hospital, then by helicopter to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.
Rose said it was the second such accident in two weeks. In the previous accident, he said, an 8-year-old girl flew 40 feet, but didn't suffer serious injuries.
Police were not releasing the names of those involved in the accident Monday night.
