Uintah teen injured when hit by car on Halloween evening

UINTAH -- A teen is Primary Children's Hospital with a head injury after being struck by a vehicle while trick-or-treating Monday night, Weber County Sheriff's Office Lt. Mark Lowther said.

The 13-year-old was out trick-or-treating with his step-brother in a poorly lighted area with no sidewalks on 6600 South.

When the boy stepped on the road, he was struck by a car driven by a 71-year-old woman.

An ambulance transported the boy to McKay-Dee Hospital and he was later taken by LifeFlight to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

The Sheriff's Office did not cite the driver.

"It doesn't look like she was at fault in any way at this point," Lowther said.
