ELKO, Nev. -- Police are investigating an alleged stabbing between a married couple while they were in Nevada.
Layton police contacted Elko County sheriff's deputies early Wednesday morning about a possible stabbing.
Jeff Pitcher, 58, and his wife Eileen, 59, were driving on Interstate 80 from Reno to Layton when they started arguing, according to a statement from the Elko County Sheriff's Office.
Pitcher told police that his wife stabbed him with a knife when they were in their vehicle. He also told police that she threw the knife out the window near Exit 328.
Elko County Sheriff's Cpl. James Carpenter said that, as far as he knows, the investigation is ongoing between the sheriff's office and Layton police.
