OGDEN -- A report of shots fired led to the arrest of a drunken woman on suspicion of assault around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
Ogden police responded to the 600 block of 26th Street, Lt. Scott Conley said. Someone reported that Katherine Ann Stancil, 51, had fired a black-powder rifle at the ground, but Conley said police found no evidence to support the claim.
However, when an officer knocked on the door, Stancil refused entry, stating she had warrants for her arrest. She proceeded to push the officer in the chest. The officer said Stancil appeared intoxicated, indicated by her movements and the strong odor of alcohol on her breath.
Conley said Stancil repeatedly turned and yanked her arm away from the officer during her arrest. She was booked into Weber County jail for assaulting a police officer and interfering with an arrest.
