LOGAN -- A 40-year-old woman has been taken to the hospital after the dump truck she was driving careened through a gas station parking lot in Logan and plowed into the side of a motel.
Officials say nobody else was injured in the crash about 2 p.m. Friday.
Authorities say the woman was driving west on U.S. Route 89 when the truck's brakes went out. She blasted her horn and avoided hitting other vehicles on the way down a hill, before running through a convenience store parking lot and into the side of a Quality Inn.
The truck belongs to a construction company and was carrying boulders.
The Logan Herald Journal reports diesel fuel had spilled around the motel. Crews on scene were checking the structural integrity of the building.
