OGDEN -- Bob Evans, 27, was arrested on suspicion of robbing an Ogden credit union Saturday afternoon.
Police got a call at 12:56 p.m. that a man had just robbed Alliance Credit Union at 2780 Adams Ave. A customer at the bank followed the suspect as he fled north on foot, according to an Ogden police statement.
The customer watched the suspect enter an apartment complex at 2664 Adams Ave. just as Ogden police arrived. Officers followed evidence that led them to an apartment where they found and arrested Evans, according to the statement.
The FBI and Ogden police searched the apartment and found $6,000 in cash they believe Evans stole from the credit union.
Evans confessed to the crime and was booked into Weber County Jail, said Lt. Troy Burnett.
There was a female in the same apartment, but police do not believe she was involved in the credit union robbery.
