OGDEN — Drop your donation of canned foods off today to get an invitation to Weber State University Community Involvement Center’s first Hunger Banquet.
The meals to be served at the Nov. 21 banquet will reflect the income disparity in Ogden, where 44 percent of households are considered the “working poor.”
To participate at the banquet, bring a bag of non-expired canned goods to the Community Involvement Center, Room 327, Shepherd Union Building, WSU, 3848 Harrison Blvd., before the end of business hours today.
In exchange, you will get a wrist band that will be good for a meal of low-, middle- or high-income quality, to be revealed at the banquet. The banquet will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 in Ballroom A of the Shepherd Union Building.
“The event is a way for students, faculty, staff and the community to learn about poverty and how it affects friends and neighbors in Ogden,” said Noel Wilkinson, an AmeriCorps VISTA member.
