If the same girl that was on the front page of the Standard-Examiner Nov. 11 had gone TO school looking the way she does, DCFS would be called immediately and an investigation begun. Have they been called in this incident and is an investigation already in process? I believe the school "Administration" that didn't immediately act on this crisis should be put on administrative leave (w/o pay); with imminent firing to follow. The same bully 3 times? What? Child abuse is child abuse. This is just as serious as the Penn State fiasco - and should carry the same repercussions. This child will be traumatized for years, if not for life, even if immediate action is taken.
The administration "let the child lay down, and then she asked to go back to class so they let her?" These people should not be allowed to be crossing guards, much less school officials. It's obvious the boy inflicting this torture has mental health needs and perhaps family issues which promote this behavior. Is DCFS or DBH involved with this variable?
My condolences to this child and her family. A concern is: did they bring this to the school administration's attention after the first incident?
Maybe it was reported, but her family's "status" isn't one the administration may consider relevant of concern. I wonder how this story would read had it been the principle's child coming in after recess with the same "didn't look that bad" injuries?
