New Davis County charter school announces events

SOUTH WEBER -- Davis County's newest charter school, HighMark Charter School, will host a groundbreaking ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, on South Weber Drive west of Highway 89 and the Frontage Road, to mark the beginning of construction on a building that will serve 580 students in grades K-9.

School representatives and area dignitaries will attend.

The school will include a media center, library, gymnasium, classrooms, commons areas and a school store.

HMCS will also host open houses from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the following dates for anyone interested in learning more about the school:

  • Nov. 29 at Pleasant Valley Library.
  • Dec. 6 in South Weber.
  • Dec. 13 in Mountain Green.
  • Jan. 17 at Riverdale City Community Center.
