FARMINGTON -- Three firefighters were hurt, one "very seriously," when a training exercise did not go as planned Wednesday night.
Three Farmington firefighters were injured when their vehicle rolled during an exercise around 9:17 p.m.
They were the only occupants of a tinder vehicle, recently purchased by the department, that carries water, said South Davis Metro Fire Chief Jim Rampton.
The vehicle rolled on the firebreak road near the Farmington and Centerville border.
One firefighter, who was in very serious condition, was flown by helicopter to an area hospital, Rampton said.
The condition of the other two was unknown, though they were hurt enough to warrant an ambulance ride to a local hospital, he said.
Investigators were working Wednesday night to determine the cause of the accident.
