PLAIN CITY -- The city has had Poo-Gloos for four years now, but the wastewater treatment devices are having a problem with a sluggish sewer line and will need to be replaced, Councilman Brent White said.
"Those aeration devices require low volume and low pressure to make them work," White said. "The tubes have deteriorated over the four years. There is some attraction to some bacteria that causes them to deteriorate. We have been monitoring them over the past year."
White said the same people who put in the Poo-Gloo System could do the repairs and now have new, more durable tubing available. He said the repairs would cost about $9,800.
"We need to do that, so we meet our criteria for the discharge compliance with the state," Councilman Bruce Higley said.
Council members unanimously approved the replacement of the sewer line.
