LOGAN -- Utah State running back Robert Turbin, Louisiana Tech linebacker Adrien Cole and San Jose State placekicker Jens Alvernik were named the Western Athletic Conference offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively, on Monday.
Turbin, a junior from Fremont, Calif., rushed for a career-high 208 yards and three touchdowns in Utah State's 49-42 double overtime win at Idaho.
Two of his touchdown runs came in the overtime periods and the other was on an 80-yard run in the second quarter. The 208 yards rushing are the second most by a WAC player this year and were the fourth most by any running back in the nation last weekend.
Cole, a senior from Mobile, Ala., recorded a career-high 17 tackles (15 solo) in Louisiana Tech's 24-20 win at Nevada, ending the Wolf Pack's 16-game home winning streak. Cole also had two tackles for a loss of 15 yards including a sack on the last play of the game as time expired.
Alvernik, a senior from Stockholm, Sweden (City College of San Francisco), hit two field goals from 44 and 23 yards out to help San Jose State beat Navy, 27-24. He also made all three of his extra point attempts to stay perfect on the season.
Alvernik's two field goals give him 16 on the season, tying the school record.
