Morgan school employee placed on leave during criminal investigation

MORGAN — The school district here put a Morgan High School employee on administrative leave last week while the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office conducts a criminal investigation.

“We as a school board have reviewed the action taken by the administration and the manner in which it was handled,” according to a written statement. “An outside, independent party has conducted a review of the actions to ensure legality, professionalism and timeliness.

“As a result of that review, we wholly support the administration in their actions and in the way it was handled. We support the checks and balances in the system and continue the support of our administrators who are professional and proper.”

Superintendent Ken Adams is not releasing the name of the employee while the matter is under investigation.

Editor's note: This story has been updated to change the reference to the job status of  the individual put on administrative leave.
