Plain City man, 82, injured in Monday rollover

PLAIN CITY — A Monday night car crash at 2584 N. 2000 West resulted in a man being taken to the hospital with moderate head injuries.

A Weber County sheriff’s deputy said the 6:15 p.m. accident occurred when a southbound 2003 GMC van and utility trailer driven by Joseph Broadbent, 59, of Ogden, was hit from behind as he waited for traffic to clear so he could make a left-hand turn.

The vehicle that hit Broadbent was a 2004 Chevy pickup driven by Boyd Parke, 82, of Plain City.

The deputy said Parke’s vehicle rolled to the right-hand side after hitting the trailer and van.

As of Tuesday night, the sheriff’s office was still investigating and had not yet issued any citations, said Sgt. Jason Talbot.

Parke’s condition was unknown.
