SAN DIEGO -- A young man accused of trying to rob a 7-Eleven store in San Diego while wearing a Gumby suit pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor burglary charge.
So did a friend who allegedly was acting as his getaway driver. Each was placed on three years' probation by San Diego County Superior Court Commissioner Robert Rice.
Jacob Kiss, 19, the Gumby suit wearer, and his buddy Jason Giramma, 20, the accused wheelman, had already admitted to San Diego police that they were responsible for the late-night Labor Day caper. Kiss' Gumby suit was seized by police.
The two did not appear in court. Pleas were entered by their lawyers.
