Council accepts bid for roof repair

PLAIN CITY -- A bid of $15,000 by WB Roofing to re-shingle the roof of city hall has been approved by the city council.

Councilman Brett Ferrin said damage inside the building that is currently being repaired was caused by the leaking roof.

Three bids were received. The one the city accepted was $74 higher than the lowest bid, but the company could start immediately while the city would have had to wait two weeks for the other contractor to start. Ferrin said the new shingles will be a shade darker than the old ones.
