Utah troopers report no fatalities over holiday

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Highway Patrol says there were no fatal accidents on state roadways over the Thanksgiving weekend despite the travel rush.

State officials say they had troopers working 100 extra shifts during the five-day holiday period, and say the enforcement effort was a major success.

UHP says they usually see one death each day during the Thanksgiving weekend.

Troopers thanked drivers for obeying traffic laws.
