Electrical problem blamed for fire

MATTHEW ARDEN HATFIELD/Standard-Examiner

Fire crews believe electrical problems caused a fire at a vacant fourplex at 738 30th St. in Ogden on Wednesday morning. The Ogden Fire Department arrived at the scene at 8:43 a.m. and firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from the north side of the attic. It took crews about 25 minutes to extinguish the fire, which caused an estimated $40,000 in damage. The fire department reported no injuries, and while the cause is not believed to be suspicious, the case remains under investigation.
