LAYTON -- Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred early Wednesday morning.
Davis Hospital and Medical Center staff reported that a woman in her 20s, with a stab wound in her abdomen, came into the emergency room at 7 a.m., said Sgt. Andrew Joseph.
"We have no reason to believe (the wound) is life-threatening," Joseph said.
Joseph said police are not identifying the woman at this time.
Detectives have been following up on leads, but do not have a lot of information to go on, he said. The woman has not told detectives who stabbed her, what happened to lead up to the stabbing and why it happened.
Police do know it happened at Vae View Park, 1600 N. Main St., in Layton shortly before acquaintances of the woman took her to the hospital.
The woman was taken to Ogden Regional Medical Center to be treated.
