A week ago, I mentioned a couple of football players with Utah ties who figured to play key roles in the Grey Cup, the Super Bowl of the Canadian Football League.
I intended to list former BYU lineman Ben Archibald, but his name never made it into the list of B.C. Lions players.
No big deal, right?
Wrong.
A pair of very proud grandmas who live here in Ogden reminded me that Archibald, whose parents are Weber High graduates, played very well in the Grey Cup, helping the Lions win the 99th Cup, along with former Montana State star QB Travis Lulay.
A former NFL player, Archibald won a Grey Cup in 2008 with the Calgary Stampeders as well.
As an apology, here is an AP photo of Archibald with his three daughters the day before the big game.
Hopefully, that will win back Name Game favor with a pair of local great grandmas.
