SALT LAKE CITY -- Gov. Gary Herbert on Sunday ordered the Utah National Guard and two state agencies to assist Davis County residents prepare for another major storm expected to produce high winds and snow.
Herbert also sent personnel from the Utah departments of transportation and public safety to the county.
He asked residents to secure loose material and to remain indoors once the storm arrives.
About 100 Guard members have been activated to move heavy equipment to the Davis County cities of Farmington, Centerville, Bountiful and Kaysville, and to help clean up debris from a windstorm that caused millions in damage last week.
The National Weather Service was calling for sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 75 mph from late Sunday afternoon to Monday morning.
