Donate, meet Santa, and waive a ticket

OGDEN -- Weber State University invites the public to meet Santa and two of his reindeer during a donation drive, "Fill the Sleigh."

The event, to collect small personal care items for those in need, will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the WSU bookstore, near the food court in the Shepherd Union Building.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their own cameras to snap pictures with St. Nick or the reindeer.

Items sought for donation to Catholic Community Services include personal hygiene products, especially shampoo; paper towels; toilet tissue; diapers; baby wipes; cleaning supplies and dry laundry detergent. Donations of pasta, rice and beans also are needed.

Free parking will be available on campus.

WSU Parking Services is partnering with event organizers for a parking ticket waiver program as a way to boost donations. People with WSU parking tickets can select an item from the "most needed" list and deliver the donation to the Ogden or Davis Campus stores to receive a "Fill the Sleigh" ticket voucher. The voucher can be presented to Parking Services, in Annex 5, by Jan. 31 to waive one parking ticket (up to $30).
