Keith Richins and Lois Stoddard of Washington Terrace will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and a safari to Africa.
They were married Dec. 8, 1961, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
He was born June 21, 1939, in Henefer to Ren and Nora Richins. She was born April 7, 1940, in the Ogden Dee Hospital to Amos and Cora Stoddard. They are graduates of Ogden High School.
He served an LDS mission to the Western States and received an associate degree from Weber State College. He owned and operated Keith's Shoe Repair and worked in the lighting industry, retiring in 1998.
She was a teacher and a principal in Weber School District for 35 years before her retirement in 1998. She then worked part time for the Utah State Office of Education, Weber State University and Utah State University. She is a member of the Utah State Judicial Conduct Commission.
Together they were ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple for 10 years and have held many callings in their church. They enjoy golf, travel, bridge, books and WSU sports.
They have a son and a daughter: Ryan Richins and Randi Richins. They also have five grandchildren: Kaisha Richins, Braydon Richins, Brycen Richins, Braxton Richins and Kenton Richins.
