Missing Sandy mother, 13-year-old son found safe

SPANISH FORK -- Police say a Sandy woman who hadn't been heard from since a dropped call to family members last Thursday has been found safe.

KSTU-TV reports (http://bit.ly/uEDnUZ ) 48-year-old Suzanne Ribas and her 13-year-old son James Ribas were about 20 minutes from their destination in Florida by noon Tuesday.

The pair was reported missing after Ribas' call to her daughter dropped while the mother was driving on U.S. Route 6 through Spanish Fork Canyon.

Crews searched the canyon by ground and air over the weekend.

Ribas reportedly had a pre-paid cell phone with her as she and her son moved to Florida. Police had said the phone was sending calls straight to voicemail.
