PLEASANT GROVE -- City councilmembers in Pleasant Grove are deciding whether to clamp down on beer sales on Sundays.
City Attorney Tina Petersen says the law technically permits Sunday beer sales at places outside of restaurants, such as convenience stores. But an ordinance set for a vote Tuesday could end that.
The Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/sfhi06 ) Mayor Bruce Call wants the ban because it aligns with Pleasant Grove's culture and character.
City officials say county action recently made liquor laws more lenient, while individual cities can enact stricter laws.
Councilmembers will also decide whether to ban alcohol sales at drive-through windows.
