Leaders of bailed-out companies should surrender bonuses

I agree with the suggested manifesto or the Occupy movement in the editorial by the Los Angeles Times, ("Viewpoints," Dec. 7, "A manifesto for the Occupy movement"), but I would be more specific about the bonuses paid to leaders of failing businesses that were bailed out with tax funds.

Congress should pass legislation requiring that these bonuses be returned, plus interest, to the tax entities from which they came. This total lack of responsibility by those issuing these bonuses as a reward for failure should be castigated.
