Wildcats' Oram snags All-America honors

OGDEN -- Weber State senior offensive lineman J.C. Oram has been named to the 2011 American Football Coaches Association FCS first-team All-America Team.

Oram finished his career with the Wildcats by starting all 11 games on the offensive line for the Wildcats this season. He earned Big Sky All-Conference first team honors for the second straight season. He was part of a WSU offensive line that blocked for quarterback Mike Hoke and the group of WSU's running backs, including C.J. Tuckett who rushed for over 460 yards and eight touchdowns in the final two games of the season.

For his career Oram, a native of Marriott-Slaterville and graduate of Fremont High School, played in 48 career games at Weber State and started 47 of them. He did not start in the first game of his career as a freshman but started the next 47 games for the Wildcats.

Oram was part of an offensive line that blocked for several All-Conference runners, including Trevyn Smith, WSU's career leader in rushing. He also blocked for 2008 Big Sky MVP quarterback Cameron Higgins, who became Weber State's all-time passing leader and the Big Sky's career touchdown leader.

Oram has earned Big Sky All-Conference honors four times in his career, and earned second team All-America honors in 2010.

He was part of the Wildcat team that won the Big Sky title in 2008 and helped WSU to the FCS playoffs in 2008 and 2009.

Oram is one of eight players from the Big Sky Conference named to this year's AFCA All-America Team. The AFCA team is voted on exclusively by collegiate football coaches.
