Plain City council OKs partial release of funds

PLAIN CITY -- The city council recently approved a request from the developers of Plain City Meadows for a partial release of escrow funds to pay the bill for chip seal and crack seal in the subdivision.

Blake Matthews, of J & J Development, said they exceeded the amount on the line item for the subdivision work and that a partial release of escrow funds -- in the amount of $6,149 -- would allow them to pay that bill.

He also said they are working on the issue of a temporary turn-around, which is currently on Lot 61 in the subdivision, and they have now found that with the temporary turn-around the lot is not buildable. Matthews said the turn-around may need to be moved or the plat amended for that lot. Once this issue is resolved, he said, the developers will be asking the city for the remainder of the escrow funds.
