Park City pedestrian dies of head injuries

PARK CITY -- A woman from Paraguay died a day after she was struck by two cars while trying to cross busy state Route 224 in Park City.

The 25-year-old woman was hit by one car and thrown into another while crossing an intersection at the Canyons Resort after sunset on Saturday.

The Utah Highway Patrol says the woman, Gabriela Caballero-Lopez, died of head injuries at a Salt Lake City hospital the next morning.

Troopers told The Tribune the woman apparently was crossing Route 224 against the traffic lights.

The Tribune said the woman was in the U.S. studying English after finishing a law degree in Paraguay.
