Reward offered in bank robbery

LAYTON -- A reward is being offered to help catch the masked individual who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank inside the Fresh Market store in Layton on Nov. 18.

Layton Police have been notified that Wells Fargo, in conjunction with the Utah Banker's Association, has offered up to a $10,000 reward for original information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the person or persons involved in the robbery, Layton Police Lt. Garret Atkin said.

The robbery occurred at Wells Fargo Bank, 910 N. Fairfield Road, around 7 p.m. Nov. 18. Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the bank. A masked individual demanded money and then fled on foot and was not located, Atkin said.

"The suspect was wearing a Halloween mask described as an 'old man mask with a long white beard,'aa " he said.
