Man charged with sex abuse of child

OGDEN — A 56-year-old man was charged Tuesday with sexually abusing a child several times.

Craig Wayne King was charged in 2nd District Court on two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and two counts of sodomy on a child, all first-degree felonies.

He is suspected of sexually abusing a 5-year-old boy several times from August to November, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The case came to the attention of Ogden police after the child told his parents, and later law enforcement at the Weber-Morgan Children’s Justice Center, about the incidents.

When police asked King about the crimes, he admitted to them, according to the affidavit.

Ogden police arrested him Monday and booked him into Weber County Jail.

All of the suspected crimes are punishable with up to life in prison.
