SWAT called in for Ogden arrest on Davis County warrants

OGDEN — The SWAT team was called in to arrest a man for two felony violations of a protective order and two other misdemeanor warrants in Davis County.

Police arrested Ronald Mason, 30, Monday night on the 2300 block of Jefferson Avenue.

Ogden Duty Lt. Troy Burnett said Mason was hiding in an apartment and would not answer the door before the Ogden police crime reduction unit obtained a search warrant and sent in SWAT.

Burnett said the team broke down the door and told the man they had a police dog.

With that information, the man surrendered and was taken into custody, Burnett said.
