Utah gas prices down 28 cents from last month

SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah's average gas price is $3.14 per gallon after a month of double-digit price drops in every one of the state's metro areas.

AAA says Tuesday that their latest number is 33 cents up from the same time last year, but 28 cents lower than in November's report.

The St. George area has the state's cheapest gas with an average price of $3.07 per gallon. Salt Lake City gas averages $3.28 per gallon, and Vernal has the most expensive gas with an average price of $3.43 per gallon.

Utah numbers are lower than the national average price of $3.27 per gallon.

The cheapest average gas price in the country is $2.84 per gallon in Albuquerque, N.M.

Wailuku, Hawaii has the highest average price at $4.38 per gallon.
