KENAI, Alaska -- A Utah man has been charged with bilking clients of his guiding business in Alaska.
Alaska State Troopers say 35-year-old Thomas W. Murray of Cedar Hills, Utah, has been charged with four counts of theft, and single counts of scheme to defraud, unsworn falsification and false information on a fishing license.
His first court appearance is scheduled Friday. There was no phone listing for him in Utah, and it wasn't immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
Alaska officials say he owned Wise Guide Outfitters in Cooper Landing. Troopers say Murray sold more than $90,000 in fishing vacations to nearly 70 clients on eBay in 2010 and 2011 but failed to provide some or all of the trips.
Troopers also say he stiffed Cooper Landing businesses of nearly $29,000.
