7 Hill AFB airmen, among last to leave Iraq, come home

SALT LAKE CITY -- Several Utah airmen who are among the last U.S. military members to leave Iraq are coming back home.

Seven airmen are set to arrive at Salt Lake City International Airport Wednesday morning after a flight from Baltimore.

Hill Air Force Base officials say the group is among about 300 U.S. military personnel who caught the final flight out of the country. Their Air Force C-17 left Ali Air Base in Iraq on Saturday.

Their withdrawal marks the end of a war that started March 20, 2003, with an early morning airstrike in Baghdad.
