OGDEN -- Police are asking for help in locating a hit-and-run driver involved in an accident Friday night.
The driver, described as an older man possibly wearing a hat, hit a 21-year-old female jogger about 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 16, Police Lt. Eric Young said.
The victim was jogging along Skyline Drive near Beus Pond, 4240 Country Hills Drive.
As the jogger passed the exit, a small, 1980s or 1990s red pickup truck, possibly a Toyota or Nissan, came out of the park parking lot and struck her, Young said.
The victim was thrown up onto the hood of the truck, hit the windshield, then fell off and was run over by the rear tires.
The driver continued north on Skyline Drive without stopping to check on the victim, Young said.
The jogger was taken by ambulance to McKay-Dee Hospital with serious injuries including broken bones. She has since been released.
The victim provided information about the accident, but police did not find any additional witnesses.
Young said the truck may have sustained damage to the front and windshield. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run or the location of the truck and driver is asked to call the Ogden Police Department at 801-395-8221.
